Reasons for the Revolution

- World War I was the last straw for the people; they didn’t understand why the were dying for someone who wouldn’t even help them get food when they were starving

- during World War I they ran quickly out of food and supplies; buildings and cities were destroyed

- Karl Marx’s ideas helped influence people’s opinions of the tsarist system

- Rasputin’s closeness to the Imperial family made the people view the tsarist family differently

- most businesses were owned by the tsar

- the tsar Nicholas II didn’t care about keeping the country fit for survival
