Bolsheviks End Civil War

After nearly four years of brutal fighting, the Civil War of the
U.S.S.R. has finally ended. The Bolsheviks (better known as the "Reds")
defeated the "Whites" for control of Russia.
"How could they have won?" White supporters have been asking. The
solution is simple: the Bolsheviks are extremely organised. Theyplanned
out every last detail and had a plan of action for every angle. TheReds
worked together to defeat their enemies. The Whites, on the other hand,
were unorganised and argued among themselves. They could not agree onany
strategy, and accordingly, were left without one.
One of the Bolsheviks’ strategies was to achieve success through
terrorism. Their allies, the Secret Police, were placed at posts aroundthe
country, lurking in wait for their prey.
Another plan was to recruit soldiers that previously worked for the
tsar. This gave the Bolsheviks quite a jump in population, therefore
receiving a boost in army power. Thousands of workers and peasants also
joined the Bolshevik army, hoping to receive the free land and foodthat
the Bolsheviks promised them.
Though the Bolsheviks have now established communism in the Soviet
Union, they will have quite a job to rebuild it. The country is incomplete
ruins. World War I and the Civil War have taken their toll on the land.
Fortunately for the Bolsheviks, there are now less people to please, as
millions of citizens have been killed, and millions have fled.
